CD packaging and liner notes

Asked to design a CD package for Japanese mega-popstar band L`Arc~en~Ciel, one theme guided my decisions: “they’re HUGE in Japan.”

Broken TVs and visual static bring the viewer into the timeline of events. A larger-than-life band turns a whole city into a stage, performing tracks listeners will recognize from popular Anime and video games. Where possible, lyrics are provided in both Japanese and English translations.
